“Before Taeyang Precision was founded in 1986, all machine tool lighting came from Germany, which was extremely costly,” recalled Senior Manager Kim Yoo-jin. “Our journey began when Daewoo Machine Tools requested a solution to replace these expensive imports, and that’s when we developed our first waterproof fluorescent fixture. Over the years, we expanded our product line to include halogen lamps and work lights, all specifically designed for industrial machinery.”
Kim emphasized that Taeyang Precision’s success lies in its unwavering focus on machine tool lighting. “We don’t make anything else—only lights that go into machines. In a sense, we’ve completely localized the production of work lights in Korea. Our lights are tailored to the needs of machine tools, featuring top-tier waterproof and dustproof ratings, and they’re 100% Made in Korea, which is becoming increasingly rare these days. Our customers, including giants like DN, Hyundai WIA, and Hwacheon, value the durability and specialized design of our products.”
She added, “Our lights have an extended replacement cycle, lasting up to two years, and we manufacture both 12V and 24V options to meet various industry requirements. The fact that our products are entirely produced here in Korea is a significant selling point, and it’s something we’re very proud of.”
